Identity Issues
In 1996, the leaders of the GLBT Student Organizations and Their Friends brought in numerous speakers who talked about the ways the gender, race, sexuality, and other identities intersect and how they affect work, activism, and everyday life.1
The Queer Student Cultural Center
In 1998, The Association of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Students and Their Friends voted unanimously to change their name to the Queer Student Cultural Center. The previous name had been in-tact since 1991, but the group knew it needed a change that was for the better. With the new name, the group became more inclusive and more of a support group.1
