Peace Strike

In 1935, a group of university students led a peaceful anti-war protest, known as the ‘Peace Strike.’ The group passed out papers that presented the realities of war, not just the glamorous side. The papers also spoke about abolition of all aggressive military activity, support of legislature putting foreign trade during a major war on a “cash and carry” basis, opposition to the reinstatement of military training at the University, and several other proposals.1
